I have $400 so far and I want to save up for a Gibson Les Paul which costs about $2,200. But my dad said I should get a Fender Stratocaster, which costs $369, now and get the Les Paul later. I want to own both guitars eventually, but I don’t know which to get first since I love both equally. I currently have a Squire Bullet which I am keeping. So here’s my dilema. Get the strat now, which is like the guitar I have, or wait a couple of months and get the Les Paul. Please HELP!!!!
i’d get the Stratocaster now, i think there better thane a Squire Bullet. then save your money to ge tthe Les Paul, which is better than any of the others.

It is not about better, it is about the sound you are searching for. If you play you really should have at least one of each. I will be completely honest with you about this… I grew up worshiping the Les Paul because of Jimmy Page… When I first learned the guitar all I wanted was to dupe “Ten Years Gone”… but I do find the Les Paul more limited… If you want to Rock it is a work-horse but you can get more sounds and play better techniques on a strat… I will never be able to quite my day job but I can dazzle the occasional family friend with my butchery.
