Epiphone Les Paul Special II or Squier SE Special Stratocaster?
Which guitar is better? Please give me a decent answer. Can you also describe what kind of rock sound each one plays. (Example: Light rock or metal). It’s not about looks either… Just if I were to buy one, which one would I buy?
Squier is notorious for its horrendous quality. The sound doesn’t break “clean” even on a thousand dollar amp. Definitely get the Les Paul Special II. It may be more expensive, but it sounds better, looks better, and, even though it’s an Epiphone, it’s still a LES PAUL. Les Pauls are mostly for blues and classic rock because of the mellow sound.

PPS. If you aren’t on a budget, I recommend an ESP. ESP guitars are usually good for blues, metal, and anything that requires distortion. They look shmexy, (mostly) have 24 frets, a whammy bar, and they’re much cheaper than Gibson guitars.
