This Les Paul instructional video represents a rare and historical in-depth view of the living legend that inspired the revolutionary development of the recording industry. Les not only invented the electric guitar, he also perfected the technique of multi-track recording and experimented with the use of “echo”, what we now refer to as “reverb”…
I'm taking a blues direction and I have curiosity, what is a good setup for this guitar, without having to take a tech. Can I can use a heavier gauge string to get a more rich? I am using an amplifier Fender hot rod currently.I still have the original strings, but this is virgin territory for me as I have been playing acoustic solely. Thanks any kick in the direction correct
You can put any string of meter in the beginning, if you are prepared to adjust the neck action, tension and tremolo springs tensor adjustments etc. The usual rule is that you can leave the settings alone if you go one size, but needs adjustments due to increased stress if you go to a larger size (unless you tune in to my flat as Stevie Ray Vaughan did. He used relatively thick chains from 1912 to 1958, although more heavy.) Some others just bluesers have to use the standard 9. The road probably came with 9. It might sound better (for the blues anyway) with 11 or 12, but do not think the difference is huge for the average recreational player.

I am thinking of buying a mexican start of a line man can tell if someone in Mexico makes fenders or are Squiers elsewhere? and if a Mexican start what could be the body?
The Mexican Stratocaster is a "true" Starting measurement what goes. They say Fender Stratocaster and the head stock as opposed to a Squier Start. Stratocaster is not the highest quality as those made in the USA. But they are better than No one Squier, Squiers do not in Mexico, the affinity Squiers made in China. And they are made of alder wood. The beginning of the bullet is really cheap, I think one is made in Indonesia. I agree that it is not the best idea to buy a line, however, you can get here in the U.S. for about $ 300 – $ 400. It is always better to play, first cousin can be a wrong one, but if you look online, with a little care in setting, you can come to play very well. I have a Squier cheap with a maple neck set it up after playing almost as well as my American Deluxe Stratocaster 1978, which goes for about $ 1,800 Mexican Strats now here: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Standard-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar-103630810-i1148847.gc also made Alder
